Today, the day after our first golf tournament by Jingolhoe,
it started with snow flakes in the morning and later it was
snowing hard and cold. I was thinking of yesterday's outing
at the Emerson Golf Club in New Jersey and thought how
lucky we were - when we think about the weather.
As usual as daily work without any exception, I made round
at my hospital before I got on the highway to go to the course
one hour before as requested by our Secretary General Sun
Lee on our home page.
It was sunny and warm in March - the best day so far in March
weather-wise, I would say. I played "Music for Cello & Piano"
by Beethoven and I was celebrating myself we could have out
ing under such a nice weather.
I saw Sun Lee and Cha Ho-sung were already there in the
cafeteria and Sim Hyun-bo hoobae with his guests from
Connecticut to my surprise. We welcomed each other and
had a bowl of Ra-myeun for my breakfast(brunch?) thanks
to Cha Ho-sung Chongjangnim.
And one by one, two by two walked into the room
and everybody looked jolly and happy for the day.
"Sorry that you had to cancel Event at the Noraebang
due to Sandy". Kim Sung-chul hoobae said.
"Still it's effective. We'll do sometime in the future.
The deposit I made is still there, not withdrawn".
Every corner, every conversation we had before
we started, thanks to Senior Vice President Park
Myong-geun, was all pleasant and courteous to
each other.
Then,
We started as the first some of the outing at 11:30 a.m.
a little earlier than scheduled. Thank God, I could land
my first tee shot on the edge of the fairway.
"Dae-po Bul-gga?"
I asked Son Young-chul hoejang after a few holes.
My score? Please, don't ask me what it was after a few
holes. I thought there was No Chance to Win $20 I betted
againt Son hoejang. And I said "Dae-po" and lost at the end.
Because of my poor vision, I have trouble to read road
signs and I followed Mr. Ha Se-Jong as my convoy to the
restaurant. Believe or not, he is 80 years old, born in the
year of XX00, but the way he played shocked Yi Cun-li
sunbaenim and Son Young-chul hoejang. He had some
flexibility and played every shot with full swing.
Probably, some of the readers of this ramblings might know
him because his name has been on the front page of Korean
newspapers in the past as the President of This, or President
of That - various Korean organizations.
Over all, I had real fun day all day yesterday and very glad
to see our new Alumni Association's President as 15-Dae,
Seo Kyun-duk hoobae and President of Masan HS, Mr. Park
Young-pyo and his "Magolhoe"'s Golf hoejang, Mr. Park.
As I said before, it was historical day in our Korean community
to finish our golf outing as follows;
1. All planned from the beginning to the end - online.
2. The first time, different sections gathered under the
same roof and more to join together in the future
- willingly.
Now, we have something New and Hopeful every
month we can Expect to happen. That is our Jingolhoe's
Golf Outing.
History was written and engraved by those our
devoted friends - Yi Chun-li, Son Young-chul,
Park Myong-geun, Sun Lee and Cha Ho-sung
- And You, All of You, My Golf Buddies.
See you next time on and on...on the golf course,
at the restaurant in the future.
God bless you! and He will.
1. Son hoejang, did you use that gold $20
for your gas back to your home last Sunday?
Next time you might have to Vomit that dear
$20.
2. Whoever put on this serene music
- "A Wonderful Day" for me, I am very
grateful for that. By the way, Golf Course
is my and only Meditation Place since I have
played golf - not in deep mountain like
Buddhist Monks we hear and read.
Do you want to Meditate?
Please, join us on the Golf Course
in the future. You'll find I'm right.
Thanks again for your help whoever
