[Caddy]
- who are they?
Many years ago I went to Korea to attend 10th anniversary year since
we graduated from SNU Medical School. If I calculate retrospectively,
it could be in the year of 1983 - thirty one years ago.
To make my story short, we had a round of golf at the Seorak Country Club
- which was pretty new Golf Club. It was hot summer day when we had
the outing. And I remember very clearly without any doubt that was the
First Time I played with help of Caddy since I learned Golf - in America.
Two young girls who looked like Young High School graduates in late
Teens joined our 4-some to carry our Golf Bags. As I said, it was hot
Summer Day in the Mountain - where we walked Up & Down the course.
It was Too Hot To Walk even without carrying anything, but these two
young girls were carrying our Two Golf Bags - can you imagine How
Hot It Would Be? I felt sorry for them and I took my own bag and carried
on my shoulder. But I gave them Caddy Fee after we finished.
I don't like to play golf, nor not accoustomed to playing golf with help of
Caddy - I judge the distance myself, I chose and take out golf clubs myself,
etc like we do here in America, but in Korea, it's different.
But,
let's look at the news article recently published all over Korea as follows;

What A Shame It Is
- to taint the Image of our beloved sports, Golf!
But, I have beautiful memories of yesteryears in Sokcho & Seoraksan
- where I spent one year for my military service
- and I was young 25 years old, right after graduation.
